HISTORY OF AUNDHA FORT :

The fort is situated in Nashik, Maharashtra. In a Village of Aundhewadi. This fort was an Maratha Fort , after them fort was captured on 11 January 1688 by Moghul army headed by Matabarkhan. He appointed Shyamsingh as the chief of the fort. Later this fort was captured by Peshwas in 1761. Finally in 1818 this fort was won by the British.

WHAT'S THERE ON FORT ?

  1. Fort is surrounded by windmills , its just make this fort more awesome watching mindmills during travel and trek.
  2. Iron Chain climbing Experience.
  3. A cave, Mandir & water pond at top of fort.
  4. Awesome view of kadwa reservoir and also one can watch over Patta fort from top of fort.
  5. C-shape of mountains surrounding fort, this is the best spot for taking some Pics, Selfie.
  6. A watchpost, which is accessible after you climb up.

FACILITIES :

Water facility is available on fort. But there is no food or camping facilities available on fort. You can put a camp on top of fort for night and have a nice view of stars at night from top of the fort.

BEST TIME TO VISIT AUNDHA FORT:

Before the month of July & After month of August, as in during the rainy season the ropes and stairs are more slippery. So after august month it is more safer to trek.

HOW TO REACH AUNDHA FORT :

  1. (For 4 wheels & 2 Wheels) The Easiest & the most preferred way to reach Aundha Fort is from Konambe Village in Sinnar which is Suited for both Four Wheels and Two wheeler. Most of the people Travel via this way cause it's Safer than the second option.
  2. (Only for 2 Wheels) From Aguskhind Village in Bhagur which is only suited for Thrill loving enthusiast bikers. This way might look like short way if you are travelling form Nashik or Mumbai but it takes a lot of effort to travel by this road. (Note that the this way has a steep and rock climbing cliff way to take your bike. if you have a good control on your bike only then you should go through this way.) 

TIME REQUIRED TO CLIMB AUNDHA FORT:

For an experience trekker it requires only about 1 to 2 hours nonstop to climb at the top of Fort from Aundhewadi village and decend may require only a half of time require to climb. 

So you may require 4 to 5 hours to complete the trek with some breaks while in the way.
